Do you need someone to help you take a fresh look at your garden? It can be a relaxing haven, or feel disappointing and overwhelming, but often a few well thought out changes and some professional TLC can make all the difference. Here are some of the projects and gardens I’ve worked on…

East Devon Forest Garden 2010-15

In 2010 I bought 3 acres of pasture in east Devon to establish a forest garden. With learning support from the Agroforestry Research Trust and drawing on the Plants for a Future database, we selected a range of  edible or useful plants, designed and planned the site and rejuvenated compacted ground using deep tilling and green manures.

Within 4 years there were 50 tree varieties, 40 varieties of shrubs and vines, and 60 different perennials, including microclimates for tender plants such as  peaches, Chilean guava and nectarine.

Beaufort Court 2018 – 22

At serviced apartments in an inner city area, I converted areas of turf and neglected hedging, aiming to create year-round interest for visitors as well as wildlife benefit. A ‘Mediterranean bank’ creates a focal point, replacing high maintenance pots, while hardy red hawthorne and a mixture of flowering shrubs, perennials and a wildlife meadow have gradually replaced the turf along Stapleton Rd.

Strangers Burial Ground 2015 – 22

I propagate perennials and annuals to create colourful flower beds and foster wildlife in this hidden Georgian graveyard.

Callington Rd Hospital

2012 – 2016

I established a gardening group to grow flowers, herbs and vegetables for people staying on a psychiatric ward.

Some examples of what I offer…
